Day 2
Day 2 of ending the day on video game music, today we have the main menu theme from Poy Poy 2. This is a rather unknown game but one I think does a brilliant job of combining a party game with a single-player "campaign" based on that party-game "experience" (I swear I'm not turning into a modern game marketer). Poy Poy is a futuristic sport where the combatants fight each othert by throwing rocks and missiles at each other but also make use of their custom-made psychoglove to unleash special attacks with unique effects. Poy Poy 2 is better than the first game and harder too. This game feels more like an actual televised sport than the prequel made it out to be. I feel this game was a very good progression from the first game and when I first got it I was surprised to even know there was a sequal in the first place but I was glad there was. This music inparticular I think really hits home the "futuristic" feeling aswell as the "fun gameshow" feeling too. Actually, if memory serves, Poy Poy history actually started "in the past" even though it was in the future when this game was released. A great example of a sequel. Strangely this game never works on the PS2 or PS3.
