Day 5
Day 5: Tonight's music is the media dimension theme from Gex 3D: Enter The Gecko (European name). The media dimension is the level select hub world of the game, and is like a temple in the sky with loads of televisions for levels. One thing I always liked about this particular hub word was that there was hidden bonus levels scattered around in places. Plus there were those giant glowing doors that told you how you couldn't beat the bosses in that deep ominous voice: "You cannot defeat the tiki brothers!" and "Mushu Pork cannot be destroyed!". There was also the green door that just laughed because you needed to collect remotes to get in and that giant dragon head that freaked me out a bit when I was younger (though I managed to once glitch my way through it) I remember getting this game during the 1998 world cup when Brazil was against Scotland, I was given the game and I went on it as soon as I went back upstairs. This is the second Gex game (but I never played the first) and even though Gex had a bit of a Will Smith vibe in Gex 3, I think the James Bond vibe in this one was better. Unusual dialogue from Gex himself throughout the game, about feeling like he's trapped in Boy George's pants and something about Woolworths at one point. But the american version used a different voice, and that one doesnt feel right to me at all.
